Installing garden lighting can be expensive and time-consuming. To start with, it is necessary to run cables around the garden from your transformer to your lightins. These cables need to be soldered to your fittings and then heat-sealed to guard them from the weather. If this is not done correctly then, over time, the seals can be compromised and your garden lighting may be damaged. Outdoor lighting systems commonly use low-voltage halogen lamps. While these lights give out a very bright, crisp light, they also generate a lot of heat. When they are turned off, they cool very rapidly which creates a vacuum that can suck moisture through any corroded seals into the fitting causing irreparable damage. This is known as the Siphoning Effect.
Aqualux, an Australian family-owned outdoor-lighting manufacturer, have created a very smart solution to this problem. Their entire Lumena range of outdoor LED lighting comes with an optional Quick Connect and it comprises male and female stainless steel connectors that simply screw into each other, creating a watertight seal that will protect your outdoor lighting system for many years to come. The Quick Connect cables come as an optional extra on the end of the transformer and each of the Lumena LED Lights. You connect the lights to the transformer in series with Y-shaped interconnect cables. You can also buy more Quick Connect cables in 1m, 3m and 5m lengths to complete your flexible, easy-to-install garden LED lighting system.

The LED's in the Lumena Range generate very little heat and so the siphoning effect is no longer an issue. The body of all lights in the Aqualux Lumena range is made from annodised, 6000 series aircraft grade Aluminium. Aqualux have used a CREE LED in these lights available in 3W or 9W outputs. CREE LED’s are widely thought of as the very best available general lighting LED’s. These outdoor lights are superbly built is unquestionable and when you combine a CREE LED with these non-corrosive materials, you should expect 15 years of virtually maintenance-free use from these lights, even if you live very close to the ocean.
This solution allows you to very rapidly install your own high-quality, outdoor LED lighting system without the need for an electrician.
And best of all, the system is completely portable! Therefore you can move your lights around your garden, trying out different configurations until you find the one that works best! Also, if you’re a renter you can take your lights with you when you move house! Installing your own garden LED lights has never been this easy! The Aqualux Lumena with the Quick-Connect option can be purchased now from Ozlighting.com.au. Ozlighting.com.au offers FREE shipping for orders over $200, Australia-wide.
