Plant description

Acalypha 'Spitfire' is a colourful small shrub, which will bring a touch of the tropics to the garden. The foliage is bright shades of orange, red and dark green, and reasonably dense. It is a great easy care plant despite its exotic looks. Best for tropical to warm temperate zones as it is frost tender, and grows best in a humus rich soil. Sprinkle a handful of slow release fertiliser around the base of the plant in spring. Great for massed planting, containers and for foliage contrast. Grows to around a metre high and wide.
