Plant description
Agapathus 'Gold Strike' is a selected form of the very popular agapanthus, with golden variegated foliage and dark blue, striped flowers. It is a herbaceous, evergreen, perennial plant, and is a very reliable, easy care garden favourite. It is long flowering through the warmer months, and is rarely troubled by pests or diseases. It is very drought tolerant once established. It has compact growth habit, and needs no clean up apart from removal of old dried flower stems. It grows to around half a metre wide and high. It does best in a full sun position, but will also grow in a semi shaded spot. Flowering may be reduced in shadier spots. It is good for massed plantings, as a border plant, and is a great container plant for hot and sunny spots.
