Alstroemeria 'Ariane' is a decorative perennial plant with yellow flowers.
Princess lillies are a compact form of alstroemeria. They have a long flowering season, from spring through to autumn, and the flowers are great for cut flowers. They may die back if summer temperatures are too hot. When not in flower, they form a neat compact mound of foliage. Good for border and container growing, they are rarely troubled with pests or diseases.
Alstroemeria will flower well in sunny or part shaded conditions. In hotter areas they may need protection from the summer sun, so a position in dappled shade in the middle of the day would be preferred, as well as a layer of mulch. Drought tolerant when established, they will flower better with regular watering and feeding. Too much water, or planting too deep, can lead to rotting of the plant.
