Callistemon viminalis 'Slim' is a tall but narrow shrub with a dense growth habit and vivid red flowers in spring, summer and autumn. It is a really useful plant for narrow spaces such as beside driveways and paths, and will attract birds and native bees to the garden. It withstands frost down to -6 degrees with no leaf burn, and is also myrtle rust resistant. Does well on a wide range of soils from sandy to clay, and grows in full sun to part shade. Responds well to pruning if a tidier or smaller habit is desired, though it will grow naturally in a neat shape.
