Plant description

An easy care plant for tropical style gardens, with large broad leaves of purple and grey green which make a bold colour statement. Canna 'Intrigue' also has tall orange spikes of flowers in the warm months, but it is the foliage which is the real winner. The leaves and flowers can also be cut for use in flower arrangements. Best in full sun in a moist soil with a good amount of organic matter, they can also be grown in a lightly shaded position. They will take light frost. They grow from an underground rhizome, and these should be lifted and divided every few years as the rhizomes become crowded. Waterwise plants once established.
