Plant description

Coprosma repens 'Karo Red' is an upright, evergreen shrub with glossy emerald to dark red, leathery leaves. It is compact growing and great for low hedges. It grows to around a metre high and wide.  Responds well to trimming, so is good for topiary work, and is also good for container growing. Reasonably frost, dry and salt tolerant once established. It likes a well drained soil. This plant is good for cut flower work, as it is long lasting and a great contrast colour.

Coprosma repens is native to New Zealand.
