Plant description

Elaeagnus macrophylla is a super hardy evergreen shrub, great for hedging and screening. Grows to around three metres high and wide, with interestingly marked leaves and bearing cream flowers in autumn. They are fragrant. This is a bulletproof plant that can take salt laden coastal winds, drought, windy blasts and frost. Can be planted in full sun to part shade. Trim regularly if using for a hedge to encourage dense growth. Fertilise in spring.
