Plant description

Gaura 'Passionate Blush' is a herbaceous perennial plant with prolific pink flowers for most of the year. This plant is a more compact and upright form of the popular and hardy Gaura, and the new growth is burgundy coloured. The flowers are borne on shorter sturdier stems, too. It is a very low maintenance plant with few pests or diseases to trouble it. It prefers a sunny location and tolerates a wide range of soil types. It is frost and salt tolerant, and will grow in hot dry conditions. Best performance will be achieved in well drained moist soil. Fertilise through the warmer months with a good general purpose fertiliser. Cut the plant back by a third in spring to rejuvenate it. A good container plant.

Propagation is by division of the plant. It grows from rhizomatous roots.
