Plant description

Heucheras are a herbaceous clumping perennial plant valued for their foliage and attractive flowers. There are numerous new cultivars with striking colours and different leaf markings. The foliage comes in various shades of reds, pinks, silver, chocolate and peach colours. They are hardy, adaptable plants, good for rockeries, borders and container growing.

They are best in part sun in a well drained, moist, fertile soil. They can be grown in full sun, but would need protection from hot midday summer sun.They can withstand harsh conditions, but appreciate regular watering. They are tolerant of heat and humidity. They are troubled by few pests and diseases. Root rot can be a problem in prolonged wet spells.
