Plant description

Lamium maculatum 'Marshmallow' is an excellent groundcover perennial plant, with silver leaves edged with green, and spikes of small pink flowers from spring to autumn. It is a hardy plant that is troubled by few pests or diseases. It does best in a fertile well drained soil, with regular water. It is moderately drought tolerant once established, and is also frost hardy. Fertilise in spring with a slow release fertiliser. It makes a good groundcover, border and edging plant, and is also good for hanging baskets and pots, as it will spill over the edges. It likes a semi shaded position, but can be grown in shade and a protected sunny position as well. Prune by half if the plant becomes leggy.

Propagation is by soft tip cuttings, or by division of the plant.
