Plant description

Lavender 'The Princess Lavender' is a hardy ornamental and fragrant shrub, which is suitable for low hedging. It has bright pink bracts atop dark pink flowers, on aromatic grey foliage. It is an early flowering variety with a good fragrance. The main flowering is in spring, with spot flowering through the rest of the year. Place where the scent of the plant can be appreciated, near paths, entry ways, windows and courtyards.

Lavender prefers a sunny position in a well drained soil. Prune after the main flowering to maintain a dense growth habit. They are dry tolerant once established. As well as being good for low hedging, they are great for container growing or as specimen plants. They are good for perfumed and sensory gardens.

The perfume of lavender is reputed to aid relaxation and sleep. It can be an allergen.
