Plant description

Lavender 'Winter Lace' is an aromatic, grey foliaged shrub with purple lavender perfumed flowers. It is an early flowering variety that begins blooming in autumn, and continues on through winter. It is a compact and neat grower. It prefers a sunny position in well drained soil. Prune in late summer to maintain a neat shape and to encourage vigour. Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring. A sprinkle of dolomite will also be beneficial. Lavender makes a perfumed low hedging plant, is good for container growing or as a specimen plant in the garden.

The perfume of lavender is reputed to aid relaxation and sleep. It can be an allergen.
