Plant description

Lobelia erinus is a very popular decorative, low growing, herbaceous plant, with bright blue, pink or white fan shaped flowers. It has a long flowering period, from early summer to late autumn. It is perennial in subtropical climates, but is usually grown as an annual plant. It has a scrambling or mounding habit, and grows from 10-20 cms high. It is good as an edging plant in the garden, and for window boxes, hanging baskets, and to brighten pots. It prefers a well drained soil, and regular watering and fertilising for best results.
