Plant description

Malus 'Anna' is a low chill variety of apple that can be successfully grown in temperate and subtropical climates. Originating in Israel, it is a fine eating variety that keeps well under refrigeration. It is yellow green with a red blush and is very sweet. apples like a sandy loam soil with good drainage. A good layer of mulch will keep weed growth down and help the soil to retain moisture. Water the plant in dry periods. Feed with a good general purpose fertiliser.

Anna flowers early, so good pollinator cultivars to plant in conjunction are Dorsett Golden, Ein Shemer, or crabapples. It starts producing apples from a young age, and is a light cropper.
