Plant description
The curry tree is a small decorative evergreen tree with leaves that can be used as a seasoning in cooking. The white flowers are small and fragrant. The leaves lose most of their flavour when dried. They have a distinct, spicy, curry flavour.
The tree prefers warm temperatures with full sun to partial shade. It can be very succesfully grown as a potted specimen. It has the potential to become a weed problem, as birds eat and spread the seeds, and it also has an extensive root system which can sucker, so it may be preferable as a container plant. Also, be aware that the seeds are poisonous if ingested, and the plant can cause skin irritation.
The curry tree is native to India.
