Plant description

Pennisetum advena 'Rubrum dwarf' is a beautiful grassy perennial. It is a dwarf form of Pennisetum advena 'Rubrum', at around half the height. It has long narrow dark burgundy-red to bronze coloured, upright to arching foliage throughout spring, summer, autumn, turning a rustic straw colour in winter. From mid spring to autumn it displays an eye catching, burgundy to cream foxtail like flower above the foliage. It is a quick growing grass ideal for borders and feature planting in the garden. Also good for container growing. Best growth is in free draining soils. Blooms most in warm months.
