Pennisetum advena 'Rubrum' is a beautiful grassy perennial with long narrow dark burgundy-red to bronze coloured, upright to arching foliage throughout spring, summer, autumn, turning a rustic straw colour in winter. From mid spring to autumn it displays an eye catching, burgundy to cream foxtail like flower above the foliage. Rubrum is a quick growing grass ideal for screening and feature planting in the garden. Also good for container growing. Best growth is in free draining soils. Blooms most in warm months.
