Plant description
Vietnamese mint or coriander is an attractive creeping perennial plant, with dark green leaves with darker markings, and a dark red underside to the leaf. It can be eaten fresh in salads or cooked in soups and stews, and has an individual peppery-mint flavour. In the right conditions it grows prolifically. It will grow in full sun if regularly watered, and does best in part shade in fertile soil. Also great for container growing. Frost tender. Grows easily from cuttings or by division.
Traditionally it is said to be good for repressing sexual urges.
