Plant description

Salvia x microphylla 'Sizzle' is a hardy perennial low shrub with bright pink flowers from spring through to autumn. The tubular flowers have a colourful calyx that persists after the flower drops. It has evergreen aromatic foliage on a fast growing compact plant. This is an easy care plant with few pests and diseases. It will grow well in a wide range of soil types, but prefers a fertile well drained soil. It is drought tolerant once established. Prune by a third after flowering to maintain a bushy growth habit, and fertilise regularly. A good general plant with a lot of uses, it can be planted in drifts, as a specimen plant or for containers.
