Plant description

Sedum morgiana, donkey tail, is a succulent perennial plant with grey green fleshy leaves and long, trailing stems. It is a popular and easy care pot plant. It flowers rarely, and is grown as an interesting, decorative foliage plant.

Sedum prefers a sunny position and needs good drainage. It needs regular but careful and moderate watering, as too much water can lead to the stems rotting. Decrease watering over winter. It can be grown indoors in a sunny spot. Protect from frost. Fertilise once in spring, with half strength liquid fertiliser.

Propagation is by leaf or stem cuttings.

Contact with the sap can cause dermatitis and allergic reactions.
