Plant description
Senecio serpens, Blue Chalk Sticks, is a perennial, groundcovering succulent plant with fleshy silver blue leaves and cream flowers in summer. It grows to around 0.3 metres high and up to a metre wide. It is a good landscaping succulent that forms a dense mat of silvery foliage once established. It can also be grown in containers. Suitable for poolside plantings.
Senecio serpens needs a free draining soil in a sunny spot. It will also do well in part shade. It will tolerate light frosts. It is suitable for coastal planting as it withstands salt exposure. Water less in winter. It is drought and heat tolerant.
