Plant description

spathiphyllum x peace lily cupido 2

spathiphyllum x peace lily cupido 1

A popular evergreen perennial plant for indoor use as well as for patios and shady outdoor garden beds, as it can take some neglect and still grow. With extra care it will give a lush tropical look with its broad green tufts of leaves, with bonus white lily flowers. Spathiphyllums can grow under low light levels, but should not be put into full sun which will burn the leaves. Water when the soil is becoming dry but before the plant wilts, and do not overwater. Over fertilising, overwatering or underwatering can cause leaf tip burn, if this happens take the plant outside (but in shade) and water well to flush out excess fertiliser. It will be beneficial also to take the plant out when it rains, which will clean the leaves and to give it fresh water.
