Plant description

Strelitzia juncea is a rush leafed (narrow) version of the popular and hardy Bird of Paradise plant. It has the same spectacular purple and orange bird's head flower, but is more frost resistant. A great easy care plant that is waterwise and is rarely troubled by pests or diseases. Good for massed plantings, as a specimen plant or for large containers. Good for sun or part shade, and for temperate to subtropical areas. The flowers are long lasting as cut flowers.
