Plant description
Thyme is a groundcovering or bushy perennial herb, which is useful as a culinary and medicinal plant. It is drought and frost resistant, and has few pests and diseases. It can be grown as a container plant, as well as in the garden or rockery.
Thyme is an easy care plant, with few pests or diseases. It is naturally dense in habit, but if it gets leggy, a light prune is beneficial. It doesn't like wet feet.
Thyme is a Mediterranean plant that has been used since ancient times for its antiseptic properties. The oil from thyme, thymol, is good for sore throats.
