Plant description

Tristaniopsis laurina, the Water Gum, is a large shrub to small tree, from 5 to 15 metres tall. It bears profuse yellow flowers in summer. It is attractive and compact, and is good for street plantings, for screening, or a specimen plant. This is a low maintenance plant. May be troubled by scale, whch are easily controlled by white oil spray.

The Watergum does well on most soils. It likes moderate levels of watering. Tolerates light shade, but likes a sunny position.

Propagation is by seed.
