Plant description

acmena minipilly 002

acmena minipilly 003

Acmena smithii 'Minipilly' is a great compact native shrub. It has striking new colourful tips and responds well to regular pruning and feeding. Fleshy pink berries follow cream fluffy flowers. The berries are edible. Ideal for hedging and border or as a tub or patio specimen. It naturally grows to 2 metres high and wide, and responds really well to pruning. It can be shaped and trimmed as a low hedge or topiary as a native alternative to the box plant. Likes full sun to partial shade. Feed in spring with a good slow release fertiliser.
