Cassia fistula, golden shower tree, is a deciduous to semi-deciduous flowering tree with spectacular bright yellow cascades of flowers is spring or summer in warm areas. The flowers are sweetly perfumed. It has lerge mid green leaves. It is a tropical to sub tropical plant, where it will do best, though it can also perform well in temperate areas in a warm spot. 

Best in full sun with a moist well drained soil. It is relatively drought tolerant once established. It can be subject to borers.

This plant has a purgative action if ingested.

Propagation is from seed. Seed is produced prolifically in warm areas, and has the potential to become a weed problem.
