Plant description

Cleome, the spider flower, is a tall and colourful annual plant, great for massed planting or for container growing. It grows to around a metre tall, and can have thorns so should be planted away from paths. Plant in spring and enjoy the firecracker shaped flowers through the warm months. It can tend to self seed from the interestingly shaped seed pods. Too much fertiliser can make the growth too lush at the expense of flowering.
