Plant description

Banksia elegans is a shrub to small tree, growing around 4 metres, round yellow spikes of flower in spring and summer. It has an open and many branched growth habit, interesting toothed blue green foliage, and grey tesselated bark. Use it as a feature shrub. It is very low maintenance plant. Likes good drainage and full sun, fertilise with a good low phosphorus native plant food.
