Plant description

Daylillies are a lovely clumping perennial that flowers for around 6 months of the year and retains attractive strappy foliage year round. Daylilies are so named due to the fact that the individual flowers last only a day at a time, however, this variety produces a succession of those blooms for months on end providing a bright and cheery yellow display to lift border areas or containers in the garden.

Optimum performance occurs in a rich, moist soil in a well-drained, sunny position. This plant is moderately frost hardy and drought tolerant provided it is given occasional deep watering during extended dry periods. The only maintenance required is to remove spent leaves and flowers as close to ground level as possible.

Daylillies are native to Eurasia, including China, Japan and Korea. There are roughly 60,000 registered cultivars, and more appearing all the time.
