Plant description

Acmena smithii 'Dusky' is a tough lilly pilly with glossy green leaves with bronze new foliage growth. A great plant for hedges and screens, which is also good for topiary work. It reponds brilliantly to pruning. A very tough plant that will grow on a wide range of soil types. Bears edible berries following the fluffy white flowers, birds and insects love the nectar rich flowers and fruit. If using for hedges, prepare the soil well first by deep digging and removing all the weeds, and adding as much organic matter as possible. Once planted, mulch well to keep weed growth down and to keep the soil moist.
