Plant description
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis 'Adonicus Pearl' is an evergreen shrub to around a metre tall and wide, with large pale pink flowers with a contrasting red eye. It has been bred to have long lasting flowers, which can last to 4 to 6 days. The foliage is deep green, contrasting nicely with the flowers. It blooms continuously through the warm months. Use as a feature plant, for massed plantings, and is great for container growing.
Hibiscus like a sunny position, and fertile, well drained soil. Fertilise in spring and autumn, and water regularly. Hibiscus don't like to grow in boggy conditions. Prune lightly to keep the plant growth dense.
The fibres of hibiscus bark can be used to make grass skirts.
