The Golden Delicious originated in America in 1890, and has low chill requirements. It is a good variety to grow in temperate and subtropical climates, as well as cooler areas. It is an excellent eating apple, with good keeping qualities. best ripened on the tree for a crisp, juict sweet apple with an aromatic flavour. Harvest is in March to April.

Good pollinators are Fuji, Akane, Granny Smith or crabapples.
