Plant description

Salvia leucantha 'Velour White' is a tough herbaceous perennial with velvety white flower spikes with grey bracts. It is a fast growing, low maintenance plant that is drought and frost tolerant once established. It is also salt tolerant, so is great for coastal and poolside plantings. It is troubled by few pests or diseases. Feed with a slow release fertiliser in spring to encourage profuse flower growth. Prune after the main flowering, and then cut back by half in spring to allow new growth of the plant.

Salvia 'Velour White' is an Australian bred plant, and is a new colour break of this old garden favourite. It is native to subtropical Mexico.
