Plant description

Spathiphyllum 'White Elf' is a larger growing variety of the hardy and popular peace lily, to two metres wide and a metre and a half high. Great for indoors, patios and for shady garden beds, they are great foliage plants with their broad glossy green leaves with bonus interesting white flowers. They can take some neglect, but with care they grow into a stunning looking plant. They are reputed to help clean the air indoors, absorbing volatile gases. In air conditioned spaces, mist the plants weekly to increase humidity. They do not like direct sunlight which can burn the leaves. Water just before the soil becomes dry, but don't keep the soil too wet. Leaf tip burn can be caused by over fertilising, under or over watering. Flush the soil ocassionally by taking the plant outside into the shade and watering well, this can also be done by taking it out when it rains.
