Plant description

Metrosideros 'Red baby' is a wonderfully tough and low maintenance shrub which will perform well in many areas, from coastal to inland. It has red puffball flowers mainly in spring and summer as well as some in autumn and winter, and they are bird attracting. It grows to around two metres tall, making it good for formal and informal hedging as well as topiary and conatiner growing.  The result of new breeding work in Australia, 'Red Baby' is a really useful plant. Likes a sunny spot and is very waterwise once established. Can take frost and wind.
