Plant description

Murraya paniculata is a large tropical, evergreen bushy shrub, with very fragrant white flowers. It is an excellent hedge plant if pruned regularly, or it can be left unpruned to grow to around 7 metres tall. The foliage is deep green when mature, and the new growth is lime green. It flowers mainly in summer, and sporadically throughout the year. The flowers are followed by small orange fruit. It does well on a wide range of soils, and has few pests or diseases. It is an easy care plant.

Murraya is related to citrus.

This plant has the potential to become a weed problem, as it self seeds readily. Removing the seeds and disposing in the bin will help to reduce the problem.
