Plant description

Pennisetum setaceum rubrum 'Purple Fountain' is a perennial clumping grass with long arching bronze burgundy foliage and numerous decorative feathery plumes that sit high above the foliage in summer. It is a tough, hardy, fast growing and easy care plant that suits a wide range of growing conditions. It tolerates high humidity, heat and windy conditions as well as salt spray. It is good as an accent plant, for mass plantings, and is a good container plant. It is an excellent plant for difficult sites such as poolsides, roadsides, carparks.

This variety of Pennisetum is a sterile hybrid, so is not a weed problem.
